A certified true copy (CTC) request  is a formal application to obtain a verified and authenticated duplicate of an original document, affirming that the copy is the true representation of the original. For incorporated trustees, this involves obtaining a certified true copy of the certificate of incorporation.

Requirements

Info and documents needed for this service

  1. Application letter to the Commission.
  2. Affidavit of loss/facts duly sworn to by a Director or Secretary of the company and stamped by Notary Public or Commissioner for Oaths.
  3. Extracts of minutes of general meeting signed by the chairman and secretary or any trustee on record, stating the reason for the application, members present and the person authorized to apply for the CTC.
  4. Publication of notices of application for CTC in one daily newspaper circulating in the area where association is situated.
  5. The publication must state the association name, the facts of certificate loss, the facts of application for CTC and invite objections to the application to reach the Commission within 28 days of the publication.
  6. Minimum size of publication shall be 8cm x 2 or 3”x2 
  7. Any objection to the application for CTC must state the grounds upon which it is made.
